Four factors decide the model. Pin these down before comparing anything else.
Size to the heaviest load you handle routinely, not your average pallet. Running a truck at its rated capacity all day slows every cycle and shortens component life. If a meaningful share of your loads sit near a model's limit, step up a capacity class.
Work from measured floor dimensions, not rack drawings. Check three points with a loaded pallet: the U-turn at the end of your longest aisle, the 90-degree entry into your tightest rack run, and the right-angle stacking aisle (Ast) at your busiest pick face.
Compare your measured aisle with the Ast figure on the truck's spec sheet. Spec-sheet Ast figures normally include a safety allowance (typically 200 mm), so if your aisle is close to the figure, ask us to confirm. Also check doorways, dock levellers and any point where the truck turns with a loaded fork.
As a rule of thumb, below about 30 metres per pallet move, a walkie model is usually the right fit. Above that, or beyond roughly 100 moves per shift, a rider model usually pays back through faster travel and less operator fatigue. Travel speed rises from 4.5 / 4.8 km/h on the Mini Walkie to 6.5 / 7.0 km/h on the Rider and 9.0 / 9.5 km/h on the Hi-Range.
Gradients, cold storage, container and tail-lift work, and floor condition all change the specification. Identify them at the selection stage, because they are difficult and expensive to fix later. For cold storage, tell us your operating temperature and where the truck will be charged, and we'll confirm the right configuration.
